  • Saved calculator analyses (debt amounts, rates, savings estimates)
  • AI chat conversation history (messages you exchange with our AI assistant while logged in)

Account data is stored securely in our database with row-level security ensuring you can only access your own data. Chat conversations are only saved for logged-in portal users; conversations with the public chat widget are not stored.

8. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by law. Specifically:

  • Customer account data: Retained until you delete your account
  • Lead form submissions: Retained until deletion is requested or business need expires
  • Anonymous calculator results: Purged after 90 days
  • Consent records: Retained indefinitely as required for CASL audit compliance

9. Right to Delete

If you have a DebtTools.ca account, you can delete all your data at any time from your Account Settings page. This will permanently remove:

  • Your customer profile
  • All saved debt analyses
  • All saved AI chat conversations
  • Your authentication credentials

A record of your consent withdrawal will be retained for audit purposes as required by CASL. If you do not have an account, you may request data deletion by contacting us at the address below.

Under PIPEDA, you have the right to:
